Entering The Country:
When crossing the border, the border service officer must present a passport valid at the time of the end of the trip and a completed migration card. In addition, a return ticket may be requested at the border control.
The authorities pay special attention to the appearance of the passport – tourists with crumpled, wet, stained passports may be denied entry into the country. The passport is stamped with the date of entry. There are no fees. In addition, they may ask for an insurance policy valid for the entire duration of the trip, which should be issued in advance, as well as confirmation of financial solvency (about USD 500 per person or USD 1000 per family), preferably in cash.
On November 13, 2015, 6-month multiple-entry visas were introduced for tourists from all countries. Such visas allow you to stay in Thailand continuously for 60 days, leave and return back within six months. Visa cost – 200 USD.
All minors, even those who are accompanied by their parents, must have a copy of the birth certificate with them. Children traveling without parents will also need a power of attorney from both parents.
Self-registration of a visa:
If the visit to the Kingdom lasts more than 30 days, and also if the trip is not planned for tourist purposes, you need to apply for a visa in advance at the embassy. You can submit documents using a coupon, it is issued on a first-come, first-served basis from 9:00 to 11:30. Acceptance of applications starts at 9:30 and continues until the last ticket. You can get a ready-made passport from 14:00 to 16:30.
The consular fee for a transit visa is 35 USD, a single tourist visa is 40 USD, and a multiple-entry visa is 200 USD. It is charged in the same amount from both adults and children, even if they are entered in the parents’ passport.

Transit:
For those who make a change here on their way to another country, want to enter their country through Thailand, or plan to stay at the local airport for more than 12 hours; as well as for athletes coming to competitions; captains and members of ships / convoys arriving on the territory of the Kingdom. Non Immigrant:
For almost every category of visitors (businessmen, investors, government guests, religious leaders, relatives of those who live in Thailand), including students (for them an ED visa is issued; this category includes those wishing to study “as a Buddhist monk “). Validity periods and cost: single-entry – up to 3 months / 80 USD, multiple-entry – up to 1 year / 200 USD (not all types of visas are multiple-entry).
Registration of visas for Children:
For children entered in the parents’ passport, a separate questionnaire is not filled out, their data is entered into the parent’s questionnaire, and photographs are pasted next to the parent’s photo on the questionnaire. Photo Requirements:
The photo must be in color, taken no later than six months ago, on a white or light plain background. The face and shoulders should not be covered with hair, and the person being photographed should not have headgear or tinted glasses. The image must be of good quality. Over-retouching photos is not recommended.
Visa processing Time:
The authorities promise to review the submitted application and make a decision to issue any type of visa within three days. An exception may be cases when additional documents are required or the reliability of the applicant is in doubt.
Visa run and border Run:
Many have heard about compatriots who have lived in the Country of a Thousand Smiles for months without having a long-term visa on their hands. Like, such lucky ones once in a certain period perform a cunning “rite”: they cross the borders of Thailand with another country (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia), immediately come back and warm the bones until the next time.

The Thai government also allows you to make a visa run no more than 3 times a year. To activate the second part of the student and double-entry tourist visa, the visa-run procedure is mandatory after the expiration of the first part of the visa.
