And because model is based on multidisciplinary centers, every patients advantage from a team of professionals who are focused on his or her individual care.

How does it advantage me?

A cancer multidisciplinary center, or MDC, is an organization unit of doctors from different experts who collaborate to target on caring for patients with a specific kind of cancer.

When you visit the Craniomandibular Institute, you will meet with your team of doctors and nurse navigator in one visit. Your team will be made up of doctors who expert in any kind of cancer and generally includes:

  • A surgeon who can order diagnostic orders, do a biopsy to view if your tumor is malignant or operate to get rid of cancer if necessary.
  • A radiation oncologist who can pinpoint places where your cancer is rising and use precisely targeted X-rays to decrease or destroy it.
  • A medical oncologist who can who can administer immunotherapy or chemotherapy that kills cancer cells
  • You can also get the team on neurology, phsycology, physical therapy and TMJ

Together, these cancer experts, in consultation with your initial-care doctor, will work with you to make the most right and successful plan of treatment of your cancer.

Cost of evaluation

The clinic for facial, oral, and head pain at Dentistry runs on a fee-for-service basis. Most evaluations are particularly covered by insurance carriers. Our administration staff will be happy to help patients in getting reimbursement.
