What are the stages of the result declaration for ESE?

There are three stages of the UPSC ESE result declaration: preliminary, mains, and final. Once the ESE 2022 final result is declared, UPSC will also announce the marks of recommended aspirants. Therefore, in the final result, roll number, name, subject and marks of mains, and personality test will be available. UPSC releases the final result of the ESE 2022 exam after the interview/ personality test is conducted.

Only the candidates who successfully qualify for the ESE preliminary exam will be eligible to appear in the mains. And the students who qualify for the mains will be able to face the interview/personality test. If they qualify in the interview/personality test, they will be shortlisted and selected for the available vacancies.

  • Marking Scheme in the ESE Mains Exam: ESE mains exam is held in descriptive mode. This exam also consists of two papers with a total of 8 questions, but students need to attempt only 5 questions.
